MDM Governance Specialist

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Governance Framework & Strategy

• Define, design, and implement

  MDM governance frameworks

  for

  Account Master Data

  across multiple enterprise systems of record (ERP, CRM, etc.).
• Establish and document

  data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models

  across business units.
• Develop and enforce

  MDM standards, policies, and procedures

  to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and reliability.
• Collaborate with

  business and IT stakeholders

  to ensure alignment between governance policies and operational needs.

2. Master Data Management Implementation

• Lead and support MDM initiatives related to

  Account and Customer Master Data

  , ensuring proper data lifecycle management.
• Define and maintain

  data definitions, hierarchies, and taxonomies

  , ensuring harmonization across different systems.
• Work closely with

  data stewards and system owners

  to identify, analyze, and resolve data quality issues, conflicts, and duplicates.
• Support

  integration of MDM solutions

  with key enterprise systems such as

  SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, and MS Dynamics

  .

3. Data Quality & Compliance

• Define and track

  Data Quality KPIs (DQ KPIs)

  and establish continuous monitoring, validation, and reporting mechanisms.
• Implement

  data quality improvement plans

  and maintain high-quality standards across systems of record.
• Ensure compliance with relevant

  regulatory and audit requirements

  (e.g., GDPR, SOX, internal data policies).
• Maintain

  metadata repositories

  , ensuring transparency and traceability of key data elements.

4. Tools, Technology, and Governance Operations

• Participate in the

  evaluation, configuration, and deployment

  of MDM and data governance tools (e.g.,

  Informatica MDM, Reltio, SAP MDG, IBM Infosphere

  ).
• Ensure that

  governance controls and approval workflows

  are embedded within MDM tool configurations.
• Facilitate and manage

  data governance councils or committees

  , enabling cross-functional decision-making and alignment.
• Contribute to the documentation of

  governance processes, standards, and issue-resolution mechanisms

  .

5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with business leaders, data owners, and IT teams to drive data stewardship awareness and adoption.
  
• Act as a

  trusted advisor

  to guide best practices in master data management and governance maturity.
• Provide insights and reports to leadership on data quality trends, risk areas, and governance performance.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience:

  Minimum

  5+ years

  in

  Master Data Management (MDM)

  and

  Data Governance

  within large enterprise environments.

• Technical & Functional Expertise:

• Proven experience implementing

  MDM frameworks and governance models

  .
• Hands-on experience with MDM tools such as

  Informatica MDM, Reltio, SAP MDG, IBM Infosphere

  , or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of

  systems of record for Accounts

  (ERP/CRM platforms such as

  SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, or MS Dynamics

  ).
• In-depth knowledge of

  data quality management, metadata management, data lineage, and data stewardship principles

  .

• Governance & Compliance Knowledge:

• Experience defining and enforcing

  data standards, ownership, and stewardship models

  .
• Awareness of

  data protection and regulatory compliance

  frameworks (GDPR, SOX, etc.).

• Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  
• Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation skills to bridge

  business and IT

  perspectives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with

  cloud-based MDM

  and data governance platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP data ecosystems).
• Prior experience in setting up and executing

  Data Governance Councils

  .
• Certifications in

  Data Governance or MDM

  (e.g.,

  DAMA, DCAM, or Informatica Certified Professional

  ) preferred.
• Exposure to

  Agile methodologies

  and enterprise-scale data transformation programs.
