Job Description: The Material Control specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing the supply chain activities related to material procurement, inventory management, and distribution of materials. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, ensuring materials are available for production processes, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The Material Control specialist will work closely with various departments, including production, logistics, and quality assurance, to ensure materials meet quality standards and are delivered on time. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained. - Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials in a timely and cost-effective manner. - Analyze inventory trends and forecasts to prevent shortages and overstock situations. - Implement and maintain inventory control systems and processes. - Coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries and address any material shortages or discrepancies. - Conduct regular audits of inventory and material processes to ensure compliance with company policies. - Generate reports on material usage, inventory status, and operational efficiency. - Assist in the development of budgets and cost analysis related to material procurement and management. - Train and oversee junior staff in material control processes and procedures. Skills Required: - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management. - Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. - Proficiency in inventory management software and tools. - Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. - Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively. Tools and Technologies: - Inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar systems). - Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools. - Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. - Database management tools. - Communication tools (e.g., email, collaboration platforms). This position plays a critical role in ensuring that production processes run smoothly, material needs are met, and overall efficiency is maximized in the organization.
