Maritime Emission Officer

Varuna Marine Services BV is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Maritime Emissions Officer to join our team. If you have a passion for sustainability and a strong background in emissions management within the maritime industry, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Emissions Monitoring & Compliance: Oversee and ensure compliance with international maritime emissions regulations. Regularly monitor and report on emissions from our fleet. Specifically knowledge related to IMO DCS, CII, EUETS and FuelEU maritime is preferred.
• Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to reduce emissions and enhance the sustainability of our operations.
• Technological Integration: Work closely with engineering and operations teams to integrate the latest emission control technologies into our vessels.
• Assessments & Audits: Conduct regular assessments and audits of our vessels to identify areas for improvement in emission control and sustainability practices.
• Policy & Advancements: Stay informed about the latest environmental policies, industry standards, and technological advancements related to maritime emissions management.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, or a related field. Sailing experience is advantageous.
• Professional Experience: Proven experience in emissions management within the maritime industry.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of international maritime emissions regulations and standards.
• Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
