Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Role Overview: You will be joining Apple as a quality engineer to lead quality and data analysis activities for glass manufacturing, focusing on new product introduction (NPI) and ramping up for next-generation Apple products. Your role will be highly visible, allowing you to make a significant impact on Apple's products and contribute to the company's innovation in the long run. Key Responsibilities: - Partner with tooling and functional teams to assess designs and processes during the concept phase - Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods to meet ambitious specifications at a large production scale - Create and implement innovative quality inspection tools for assessing cosmetic and dimensional part characteristics - Analyze data to establish appropriate limits and variables for process and part specifications - Lead efforts to balance quality and yields effectively - Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure quality expectations are defined and appropriate assurance techniques are employed - Prioritize Quality Engineering functions for multiple programs and team members - Expand team capabilities by recruiting new engineers - Define audit procedures for programs and suppliers to uphold Apple's quality standards - Evaluate and report on yields from new and existing processes - Drive corrective actions with internal and external team members Qualification Required: - Strong project management and organizational skills - Excellent communication skills with a focus on technical proficiency, teamwork, project management, and results-driven approach - Experience in manufacturing and Quality Control - 6-10 years of experience in developing process quality plans, supplier quality audits, and implementing corrective actions and failure analysis - Working knowledge of mechanical quality and reliability concepts, supplier management, and general manufacturing operations - Experience with developing and evaluating measurement systems - Familiarity with programming OMM, CMM, contour machine, interferometer, 3D scanning, and other high-precision equipment is advantageous - Proficient in GD&T practices with attention to datum establishment and tolerance analysis - Project management experience with problem-solving tools like design of experiments, root cause analysis, and statistical analytical tools - Understanding of glass manufacturing and coatings is a plus - Educational background in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, or related fields. ME/MS degree is preferred.,
