Job Description

Job Title: Manager /Sr. Manager/ AGM - General Insurance

Function

Location

Role Objective:

To lead and scale the General Insurance (GI) business planning by driving sourcing through territory offices, managing multiple GI partners, ensuring regulatory compliance and strengthening performance through effective tracking, governance and Rewards & Recognition (R&R) frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Growth & Strategy

  • Drive GI business across regions through Territory Offices
  • Define focus, targets and execution strategies
  • Focus on count penetration and volume penetration against fresh HL disbursement

Sales Enablement & Territory Support

  • Work closely with Territory Heads to scale GI sourcing against HL disbursement
  • Roll out campaigns, special drives, and partner-led initiatives
  • Enable teams through training, performance reviews, and joint calls

GI Partner Management

  • Manage relationships with 34 General Insurance partners
  • Drive partner-wise business growth, product alignment, and profitability
  • Resolve underwriting, operations, and claims-related escalations

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure adherence to IRDAI regulations, partner guidelines, and internal policies
  • Maintain audit readiness, documentation standards & ethical selling practices
  • Monitor compliance deviations and implement corrective actions

Operations & Service Excellence

  • Oversee end-to-end GI processes from sourcing to policy issuance
  • Improve TAT, proposal quality, renewals, and customer experience
  • Coordinate with partners or underwriting, operations and claims teams

R&R and Performance Management

  • Design and implement R&R / contest programs for territories
  • Drive motivation, engagement and a high-performance culture
  • Review effectiveness and ROI of incentive programs

MIS & Reporting

  • Review daily and monthly MIS and performance dashboards
  • Present insights, risks and action plans to the GM and leadership

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management
  • Deep knowledge of GI products
  • High compliance and governance orientation
  • Strategic thinking with strong execution capability
  • Analytical and MIS reporting skills

Qualification & Experience:

  • Graduate / Post-Graduate in any discipline
  • Mandatory IRDAI General Insurance certification
  • 6-10 years of experience in General Insurance
  • Proven experience managing multiple GI partners and pan-India teams
