Role & responsibilities

Government Sales & Business Development:

  • Lead sales efforts focused on Government sectors, Experience in dealing with Government Laboratories like DRDO, DRDL, ARDE, VRDE, ASL, Ordnance Factories like Gun Carriage Factory, HVF Avadi, Ship building companies Like Goa Shipyards, Mazdock gaon Limited, Institute of Ocean Technologies etc. He should have handled/Handling products as well as Components for defence equipment.
  • Identify business opportunities by evaluating government tenders and contracts relevant to the companys products and services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government customers, field staff, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Tender Management:

  • Prepare, review, and submit tender documents for government projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and client requirements.
  • Expertise in uploading/downloading Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and managing the entire tendering process.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary information, including technical specifications, costs and timelines for tender submissions.

Technical Interaction:

  • Engage in technical discussions with customers to understand their specific requirements and propose solutions.
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure product offerings align with client needs.
  • Provide detailed technical support to field staff during pre-sales and after-sales phases.

Customer Engagement & Follow-up:

  • Actively follow up on quotations, proposals, and tender submissions to ensure timely responses and progress.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers to address any issues and provide support throughout the sales and post-sales process.
  • Collaborate with field staff to support on-ground activities, troubleshooting, and field service management.

Sales Reporting:

  • Provide regular updates to senior management on sales progress, opportunities and challenges in the government sector.

Preferred candidate profile


  • Should have excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Candidate should have experience in dealing with Government Laboratories like DRDO, DRDL, ARDE, VRDE, ASL, Ordnance Factories like Gun Carriage Factory, HVF Avadi, Ship building companies Like Goa Shipyards, Mazdock gaon Limited, Institute of Ocean Technologies etc.
  • He should have handled/Handling products as well as Components for defence equipment.
