Role & responsibilities

Ensure compliance with all statutory environmental, health & safety regulations applicable to API manufacturing plant.
Implement and monitor
EHS policies, SOPs and guidelines
in line with local and international regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with Pollution Control Board, Factory Inspector, and other statutory authorities for approvals, audits, and inspections.
Conduct
risk assessments, HAZOP, HIRA, JSA
and implement corrective & preventive actions.
Drive and monitor
waste management systems
solid, liquid & gaseous emissions – ensuring compliance with effluent treatment plant (ETP), hazardous waste management, etc.
Lead implementation of
ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 / OHSAS 18001
standards.
Organize regular
safety audits, mock drills, emergency preparedness drills
(fire, chemical spill, explosion, etc.).
Conduct training and awareness programs on environment & safety for all employees and contract workers.
Monitor and analyze
incident / accident reports
, identify root cause, and ensure implementation of preventive measures.
Ensure availability and maintenance of
PPEs, fire-fighting systems, and safety equipment
.
Maintain and submit statutory records, reports, and documentation as per government norms.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance EHS culture across the plant.

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of
Environmental Acts, Factories Act, Hazardous Waste Rules, GPCB/SPCB norms
.
Hands-on experience in handling
safety in chemical/API manufacturing plants
.
Excellent knowledge of
fire & chemical safety, process safety, and occupational health standards
