Environmental Health and Safety Officer

Role & responsibilities

• Advise site teams for customization and adaption of EHS Standards & Guidelines in all the site.
• Knowledge of Environment, Health & Safety Management System as per ISO 14001 & ISO 45001.
• Identification of local EHS legal requirements, business risks & opportunities and ensure compliance under various statutes.
• Ensure periodic EHS Inspections for capturing Unsafe Act/ Conditions and track the corrective actions.
• Report EHS near miss, injuries & ill-health conditions fully closing out any required actions to prevent re-occurrence.
• Conduct periodic EHS Assessment & Contractor evaluation.
• Organize and Conduct need based EHS trainings.
• EHS Emergency Management for Factories & Offices.
• Fire Protection as per legal requirements.
• Environment Protection For treatment & disposal of solid, liquid waste & emission control.
• Incident investigation and root cause analysis recommend corrective & preventive action and ensure implementation.
• Conduct EHS committee meetings minimum once in a month or as required, to discuss concerns, plan remedial actions and implement the same.
• Consolidate & scrutinize EHS MIS within the C&S Organization and site team.
• Advise for obtaining statutory approvals, NOCs, Filing of returns, Consents, and Hazardous Waste Authorizations under various EHS Statutes
• Develop inputs for EHS Promotional activities.
• Statutory approvals, licenses, NOCs, filing of returns etc
• Periodic review of EHS Performance with the Corporate EHS.
• Managing EHS Kick-Off, weekly, monthly and other meetings.
• Developing and implementing EHS/Site Safety plans for all ongoing projects.
• Preparing Risk Assessments and Mitigation plans (HIRA).
• Ensuring compliance with safety protocols during meetings.
• Providing training and awareness to all stakeholders.
• Conducting incident investigations and analysis.
• Managing emergency preparedness.
• Performing regular site audits and inspections.
• Promoting safety motivational programs.
• Maintaining records and preparing reports.
• Preparing and reviewing all safety documents regularly.

Preferred candidate profile :

• BE/ Dip. Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with additional qualifications of regular Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS/PGDIS).
• 6 to 8 years of experience of handling project sites.
• Have undergone Lead Auditors Course in ISO 14001 & ISO 45001.
• Exposure in implementation of EHS Management systems on the sites.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of language -Hindi, & English
