Manager - Sample Development

As a Sample Development Manager in Home Textiles, your role will involve managing the entire sample development cycle for home textile products such as bedding, curtains, cushions, and rugs. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with design, merchandising, and QA teams to convert buyer tech packs into samples, sourcing accessories and trims, preparing product costing, negotiating with vendors, ensuring compliance with buyer-specific requirements, following up for timely sample development, and staying updated on textile innovations and buyer trends. Key Responsibilities: - Manage sample development cycle from concept to final approval for home textile products. - Collaborate with internal teams to convert buyer tech packs into executable samples. - Source accessories and trims to support sample creation. - Prepare and manage product costing, negotiate pricing with vendors, and identify reliable raw material sources. - Ensure samples comply with buyer-specific requirements and global standards. - Track and follow up with internal teams and vendors for timely sample development and delivery. - Stay informed about textile innovations and buyer trends to suggest improvements. - Support teams during buyer visits by preparing relevant product samples and technical presentations. Key Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Design, or Apparel Merchandising. - 10-15 years of experience in home textiles sample development for European & US markets. - In-depth knowledge of accessories, trims, and embellishments in home furnishing products. - Strong negotiation, sourcing, and production coordination skills. - Understanding of compliance standards and sustainability certifications. - Excellent communication and follow-up skills. - Proficiency in MS Excel, PLM/ERP tools, and basic Adobe Illustrator knowledge. Preferred Experience: - Direct buyer handling experience with European & US markets. - Familiarity with ethical audits, social compliance, and chemical management systems.
