We are seeking a Manager Raw Material Leather Footwear for a well-known Buying agency based in Chennai. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the sourcing of Leather with 7 to 10 years of experience in the field. Your primary responsibilities will include the development of leather articles and shoe materials in alignment with the Brand's direction. You will be required to identify new article trends, collaborate closely with the design team, and propose innovative articles and materials. It will also be your duty to assess, rectify, and guarantee the quality and stability of leather articles. In this role, you will be tasked with sourcing and managing a portfolio of regional vendors, evaluating their strengths, capabilities, and opportunities. You will need to approve leathers and materials from the development phase to production, ensuring they meet the required quality standards. Moreover, you will be expected to maintain quality consistency between the factory and tanneries/suppliers by taking proactive measures. The ideal candidate should possess a profound technical understanding of leather tannages, raw materials, leather finishing processes, and leather testing methods. Additionally, attending leather and materials shows to stay informed about new trends, innovations, sustainability practices, and industry developments will be part of your responsibilities.
