Job Description

Role Overview: You will be responsible for analyzing motor designs and providing recommendations to support VA/VE, Compliance, and NPD projects. This includes assessing motors manufactured by Pentair as well as those sourced from other manufacturers. Your duties will encompass components such as capacitors, starting switches, overloads, and other items crucial for motor operation. Additionally, you should possess a working knowledge of VFDs and understand their impact on motor functionality. People management will also be a key aspect of your role, as you will oversee two motor engineers reporting to you. Key Responsibilities: - Analyze motor designs to support VA/VE, Compliance, and NPD projects - Evaluate motors from Pentair and other manufacturers, along with related components like capacitors and overloads - Demonstrate proficiency in VFDs and their influence on motor operation - Manage a team of two motor engineers - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as UL and ETL - Engage in product development processes including VA/VE and NPD projects - Utilize Electromagnetic simulation software for motor design - Collaborate with global teams, mainly in the USA and Europe - Apply knowledge of lamination materials, processing, and coatings in motor design - Select appropriate thermal protectors and understand motor manufacturing processes - Participate in design brainstorming sessions Qualifications Required: - B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech. in Electrical or related fields - Minimum 12 years of experience in designing single and three-phase motors - Familiarity with fractional and integral HP motors preferred - Proficiency in motor testing methods such as Dynamometer, Surge, and Hipot - Experience with SolidWorks and electromagnetic simulation software - Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills - Ability to coordinate tasks effectively and work with diverse teams - Experience with VFD Drives application and programming parameters is desirable Please note that Pentair is an Equal Opportunity Employer, valuing diversity and cross-cultural insights to drive ongoing success.,
