You will be responsible for analyzing motor designs to provide recommendations for VA/VE, Compliance, and NPD projects. This includes evaluating motors manufactured by Pentair and other suppliers, as well as components like capacitors, starting switches, and overloads. A comprehensive understanding of VFDs and their impact on motor performance is essential for this role. In addition to technical responsibilities, you will oversee a team of two motor engineers, requiring effective people management skills. Qualifications: - B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech. in Electrical Engineering or related field Technical Skills: - Minimum 12 years of experience in designing single and three-phase motors, with a focus on fractional and integral HP motors - Proficiency in lamination materials, processing, and coatings - Ability to interpret performance data to identify losses - Knowledge of selecting thermal protectors - Familiarity with motor manufacturing processes and tolerances - Expertise in dimensioning and tolerances of motor components - Proficient in induction motor testing methods such as Dynamometer, Surge, Hipot, etc. - Experience with Electromagnetic simulation software - Understanding of regulatory standards like UL, ETL - Preferably familiar with VFD Drives application and programming parameters - Proficiency in SolidWorks Other Requirements: - Strong analytical skills - Effective planning, scheduling, and problem-solving abilities - Excellent communication and presentation skills - Experience collaborating with global teams, especially in the USA and Europe - Active involvement in product development processes, VA/VE, NPD, and design brainstorming Pentair is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values diversity and cross-cultural competence as vital components of our success.
