Job Summary:

The Manager Manufacturing Engineering (ME) will lead engine assembly and testing processes for single and double-cylinder engines within the two-wheeler segment. The role requires deep expertise in engine machine processes, sequencing of engine assembly operations, lean manufacturing, material flow, and end-to-end process planning. The candidate will be responsible for evaluating and implementing new technologies aligned with business strategy, driving Capex projects, developing prototypes, and ensuring high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Engine Assembly & Testing

• Lead and oversee assembly and testing processes for single and double-cylinder engines.

• Ensure adherence to engine machine processes, quality standards, and process sequencing.

• Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance productivity and output quality.

• Prepare detailed process flowcharts and design rules for efficient operations.

• Support implementation of Pokayoke and other quality improvement techniques.

Technology Evaluation & Capex Planning

• Explore and define new technology requirements aligned with business and brand strategies.

• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and mitigation plans for technology adoption.

• Review and identify suitable technology solutions for two-wheeler engines.

• Document the selected technology route and evaluate its suitability for Capex projects.

• Support ECR/ECN implementations ensuring cost efficiency and sustainable process improvements.

Project Management

• Define project needs including cost estimation, timelines, milestones, and resource planning.

• Develop high-level project plans and ensure alignment with organizational requirements.

• Oversee prototype development, initial engine models, and backup strategies.

• Collaborate with internal and external teams to drive project execution and readiness.

Quality & Process Engineering

• Develop Concept FMEA, process maps, and quality guidelines for new and existing processes.

• Ensure compliance with standards and support continuous improvement initiatives.

• Monitor and analyze process performance, implementing corrective actions when needed.

Cross-Functional Coordination & Support

• Collaborate with maintenance teams for optimized spares inventory management.

• Engage with multiple stakeholders including engineering, production, and quality teams.

• Ensure effective documentation, communication, and presentation across project stages.
