Designation: Manager- Inhouse Fabrication & Machine Shop

Job Location:

Fabrication and machine shop Head oversees daily operations, production, and to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency. Key responsibilities include managing production schedules, optimizing processes, maintaining equipment, and leading staff through training and performance management. The role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of fabrication and machining techniques, and skills in areas like safety protocols and inventory control.

Responsibilities

· Production management: Ensure production targets are met by planning and coordinating daily activities, managing manpower, and monitoring production costs.

· Process optimization: Implement and refine processes to improve productivity, reduce waste, and achieve cost efficiencies. This includes optimizing consumable usage and implementing lean manufacturing principles.

· Quality assurance: Oversee all fabrication and machining processes to ensure high-quality products are produced and dispatched, with a focus on zero quality costs and rework.

· Staff leadership: Supervise and coordinate the activities of machine shop personnel, including training, mentoring, and managing performance issues.

· Equipment and maintenance: Ensure machinery is properly set up, operated, and maintained through preventive maintenance programs.

· Safety enforcement: Monitor and enforce safety standards and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

· Material management: Coordinate with other departments to ensure the availability of materials and drawings, and maintain inventory levels.

· Problem-solving: Address technical issues, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and resolve conflicts that arise.

· Collaboration: Liaise with other departments, such as engineering and production planning, to ensure smooth workflow and project delivery.

Qualifications and skills

· Experience: Proven experience as a machine shop or fabrication supervisor or manager.

· Technical knowledge: In-depth knowledge of machining techniques, equipment (e.g., CNC, VMC, HMC, Robotic Welding), and fabrication processes. Experience with relevant software like CAD/CAM is often required.

· Safety: Strong understanding and ability to enforce safety protocols.

· Leadership: Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

· Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving abilities.

· Education: A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a Mechanical or Industrial engineering.

· Other skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, proficiency in computer software related to production, and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
