About The Role
The Manager, Product Development at Mastercard is a pivotal role responsible for driving the development and enhancement of Mastercard Sends core functionalities, particularly focusing on Core Switching and Commercial & Institutional (C&I) platforms. This role entails collaborating with cross-functional teamsincluding global and regional product managers, software development teams, legal, compliance, and servicing unitsto design, develop, and deliver innovative payment solutions that support Mastercards vision of a World Beyond Cash. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the payments industry, especially real-time payments, remittances, and money transfers, and will be instrumental in shaping the future of digital payments.The manager will oversee the entire product lifecycle from ideation, prototyping, and validation using the Studio Framework, to development, go-to-market strategy, and post-launch support. They will ensure that new capabilities align with market needs, regulatory requirements, and Mastercards strategic objectives. The role demands a proactive leader who can manage multiple priorities, leverage data analytics for decision-making, and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in product management within the global payments industry, with a strong background in real-time payments, money transfers, and remittances. A solid understanding of payments data standards, as well as Mastercards authorization, clearing, and settlement processes, is highly desirable. Proven leadership skills, with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams, are essential. The candidate should demonstrate a track record of managing complex projects using agile methodologies and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and customer focus is necessary to succeed in this role.Additionally, familiarity with integrated product solutions across multiple categories, knowledge of regulatory landscapes, and experience working with cross-disciplinary teams will be advantageous. Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including partner platform PMTs, software development teams, legal, compliance, and servicing units, to design, develop, and implement new platform capabilities and enhancements.
- Understand market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and competitive landscape to inform product development strategies.
- Utilize the Studio Framework to rapidly frame ideas, develop concepts, and validate market opportunities through prototypes.
- Translate business requirements and customer experiences into detailed features and functions aligned with the product roadmap.
- Collaborate with legal, data privacy, delivery, finance, marketing, and sales teams to ensure a robust go-to-market plan that emphasizes speed and ease of delivery.
- Work closely with servicing teams to develop comprehensive end-to-end support plans that enhance customer and end-user experiences.
- Partner with product management to commercialize new products, supporting seamless handovers and developing an 18-month roadmap focusing on customer experience, revenue growth, and product quality.
- Leverage data analysis skills to research complex problems, lead cross-disciplinary teams, and communicate strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Maintain comprehensive product documentation to institutionalize knowledge and foster best practices across teams.
