Manager – Formulation Development (ROW Markets)

Reporting To:

Head – Formulation Development / R&D Director

Role Objective:

To lead and manage formulation development activities for pharmaceutical products targeted at ROW (Rest of World) markets, ensuring robust, cost-effective, and regulatory-compliant formulations are delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities:

Formulation Development:

• Lead development of oral solid, liquid, and other dosage forms as per ROW market needs.
• Conduct pre-formulation studies and optimize formulations for stability, manufacturability, and cost.

Technology Transfer & Scale-up:

• Oversee scale-up, process optimization, and technology transfer to manufacturing.
• Support validation and commercial batch production.

Regulatory & Documentation:

• Prepare and review PDRs, tech transfer documents, and regulatory dossiers for ROW markets.
• Ensure compliance with ICH, WHO, and other regional regulatory standards.

Team Leadership:

• Mentor and guide a team of formulation scientists and executives.
• Allocate resources and monitor progress of R&D projects.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Coordinate with Analytical R&D, QA, RA, Manufacturing, and Business Development teams.

Project Management:

• Drive projects to meet timelines and budgets.
• Provide regular project updates to senior management.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Expertise in formulation of oral solids, liquids, and novel drug delivery systems.
• Sound knowledge of ROW regulatory requirements.
• Proficient in QbD, DoE, and risk assessment tools.
• Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
• Effective communication and project management.

Qualification & Experience:

• M.Pharm / Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics or Pharmaceutical Technology.
• 10–15 years of experience in formulation development.
• Minimum 5 years in a managerial role focused on ROW market products.
• Proven experience in handling multiple projects and successful tech transfers.
