Core Tax Services Manager/Experienced Manager

As a Core Tax Services Manager/Experienced Manager, you will:

• Advise BDO USA clients on the tax implications of their business objectives.
• Evaluate and select alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance.
• Identify different methods of complying with tax regulations while acting as the primary contact for complex tax issues.
• Apply knowledge to understand potential tax issues, recognize and communicate potential risks, and anticipate changes in the tax policy.
• Provide written tax advice to BDO USA, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all communications.
• Guide clients through tax-related challenges and collaborate with other professionals to implement tax-efficient solutions.
• Lead a team and mentor junior staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
• Ensure the team meets key performance milestones and delivers tax advice in a timely manner.
• Oversee tax compliance and reporting, managing client relationships and guiding the team in identifying tax-saving opportunities and mitigating risks.
• Stay updated with the latest IRS and IRC regulations, ensuring that technical knowledge remains current.
• Manage complex client relationships, providing high-value tax advice and building trust.
• Recognize the nuances of tax law and communicate effectively with clients to help them navigate tax complexities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• At least 8 years of experience in tax services, with a focus on tax advisory and compliance support.
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required; a Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation is preferred.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification is beneficial.
• Proficiency in tax compliance software such as GoFileRoom, GoSystemRS, Caseware, and BNA is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage client relationships and effectively delegate work as needed.
• Ability to mentor and guide team members on their professional journey.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or other relevant field required
• Masters degree in Accounting beneficial, masters degree in taxation preferred

Experience

• 9 to 10+ years of prior experience
• Review of federal and state estimated tax payments.
• Review the international portion of US federal tax returns.
• Manages and ensures appropriate tax accounting in the general ledger.
• Identifies tax savings and exposures and effectively communicates such findings.
• Oversees the development and maintenance of tax accounting policies and standardized procedures.
• Assisting with engagement workflow management and supervising tax consultants and interns on assigned engagements.
• Prior supervisory experience required.
• Big 4 Experience an added advantage

Software

• Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat
• Experience with tax research databases such as BNA and RIA Proficient in all tax compliance process software including GoFileRoom, USERVERSE, DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, GoSystemRS, ONESOURCE, CORPTAX, Caseware, BNA Depreciation Software, or comparable programs and standard tax workpapers
