About the Role: As a Manager, Employee Relations & HR Business Partner at McDonald's India office, you will play a pivotal role in leading the Employee Relations function while also serving as an HR Business Partner to key business units. Your responsibilities will encompass ensuring compliance with Indian employment laws, managing employee relations matters, and collaborating with business leaders to shape people strategy. This dual role requires a seasoned HR professional who excels in solving complex people challenges and is dedicated to fostering a high trust, high-performance culture. Based in Hyderabad, India, you will be instrumental in handling sensitive ER issues while driving strategic HR practices to support business growth. Key Responsibilities: Your primary accountabilities will include: Employee Relations & Advisory: - Lead the Employee Relations function to ensure consistent and compliant resolution of employee issues. - Act as the subject matter expert on Indian labor laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. - Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, conflict resolution, and employee relations matters. - Conduct internal investigations, support disciplinary procedures, and address day-to-day employee concerns empathetically. - Cultivate positive relationships with employees at all levels. - Support managers and HR teams proactively on employee relations issues. - Collaborate with legal counsel on employment-related matters and drive POSH compliance. - Conduct training sessions on ER matters for managers and HR teams. - Review employment policies to align with McDonald's objectives and Indian laws. Business Partnering: - Serve as the primary HR contact for assigned business teams. - Understand business objectives and translate them into HR priorities. - Assist leaders and managers in addressing people-related topics consistently. Talent Management: - Participate in talent review discussions and develop development plans for key roles. - Identify skill gaps, training needs, and support talent planning activities. - Collaborate with L&D on workshops, training programs, and career development initiatives. - Contribute to DEI initiatives to build diverse talent pipelines and foster an inclusive culture. Employee Engagement & Culture Building: - Lead employee engagement and culture-building initiatives within aligned teams. - Implement engagement actions based on feedback and surveys. - Coordinate engagement activities and internal communications in partnership with business and HR teams. Data & Reporting: - Maintain HR dashboards for key people metrics and provide insights to support business or HR reviews. - Analyze HR metrics to identify trends and recommend interventions. Change Management & Communication: - Support change management efforts during organizational transitions. - Communicate HR programs and policies clearly to employees and managers. - Act as a liaison between business and HR leadership. Qualifications and Skills: - 7-11 years of progressive HR experience with a focus on Employee Relations in India. - Bachelor's degree in HR or related field; advanced degree preferred. - Proficiency in Excel and data-driven decision-making. - Experience in managing investigations and resolving complex ER issues. - Strong knowledge of Indian Labor laws and grievance handling. - Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills. - Ability to work in a matrixed, fast-paced global organization.
