Job Description

As the EHS Compliance Manager at the Goa site, your role involves ensuring adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations and statutory compliances. Your responsibilities include: - Complying with all relevant laws, company policies, and standards for environment, health & safety. - Identifying potential EHS liabilities and effectively managing them within the plant. - Improving and maintaining the EHS performance of the plant. - Ensuring proper operation and maintenance of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) to meet regulatory compliances. - Managing statutory compliances related to the disposal process of hazardous and non-hazardous waste generated at the site. - Conducting and coordinating training programs in alignment with Abbott EHS policies and guidelines. - Raising EHS awareness through various programs. - Liaising with regulatory agencies such as GSPCB, IFB, and the Fire department on EHS matters. - Assessing potential EHS risks, informing management for corrective actions, and ensuring timely implementation. - Conducting industrial hygiene assessments and process hazard mapping for new processes or modifications. - Providing inputs for BRSR/ESG audits and managing compliances per the statutory requirements of the Goa Factory rules concerning worker health. Additionally, you will be responsible for: - Managing Industrial Occupational Health initiatives from end to end. - Overseeing the site Occupational Health Centre (OHC), agreements, contract renewals, and health checkups for employees. - Creating and updating procedures for medical surveillance and OHC operations as per statutory requirements. - Providing training to OHC staff and employees, communication of notices, and vaccination as per the International Business Travel policy. - Procuring and maintaining inventory of OHC consumables, servicing OHC equipment, ambulance maintenance, and tie-ups with local hospitals for emergencies. - Organizing health-related promotional activities, AED drills, external surveillance camps, blood donation drives, and vaccination programs for employees. - Conducting OHPM surveys and activities to enhance the site's Occupational Health scorecard. - Implementing GOHS initiatives for 2024 under the "we Thrive" project. - Planning and executing CAPEX projects related to Environment, Health, and Safety, ensuring compliance with cash flow commitments. - Driving the annual Safety week for the site. Qualifications and Experience: - Diploma/Masters in Industrial Safety. - OSHA, NEBOSH Certification preferred. - Knowledge of EHS & compliance, Statutory compliances. - 8-12 years of experience. Your competencies should include: - Knowledge of EHS and Statutory compliances. - Understanding of operations processes and safety compliance. - Ability to work in cross-functional teams. - Strong communication skills.,
