Job Description

Electrical Maintenance: Maintain and repair all electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, switchboards, sockets, and wiring. Troubleshoot faults in electrical circuits, appliances, and hospital machinery (e.g., autoclaves, elevators, suction machines). Ensure uninterrupted power supply, including generator and UPS systems. Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections of electrical systems and record findings. Carry out preventive maintenance on all hospital equipment as per schedule. Check and ensure emergency lights, alarms, and fire safety electrical systems are functional. Generator & UPS: Operate and maintain diesel generator sets. Monitor UPS systems for continuous power supply to critical areas like ICUs, OTs, and labs. Maintain fuel levels and log generator run hours. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all electrical work complies with hospital safety standards and local electrical codes. Use proper PPE while working and follow lockout/tagout procedures. Report hazards or unsafe equipment immediately to the supervisor. Support Services: Assist in setting up new electrical points or equipment as needed in wards, operation theatres, etc. Provide on-call support for emergency electrical breakdowns. Qualifications and Skills: ITI/Diploma in Electrical or equivalent. Minimum 2–4 years of experience in hospital or facility maintenance. Strong knowledge of LT panels, earthing, wiring, generators, and hospital equipment. Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot systems. Physically fit and able to work under pressure and emergency calls. Working Conditions: Shift-based duty, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays if required. Working in indoor and outdoor hospital environments.
