Job Description

Job Role:

To ensure high uptime and reliable performance of all press shop equipment by leading shift-level maintenance activities. Responsible for timely breakdown response, preventive maintenance execution, and coordination with production and automation teams for smooth shift operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead and perform first-response troubleshooting of: Tandem Presses, Blanking Line, Die Spot Press, Fanuc Servo Motors for Main Press & Die Cushion, EOT Cranes, Yaskawa Robot-based Auto Palletizers, ASRS for Blank Storage, Carl Zeiss Vision Inspection System

Identify root causes for recurring breakdowns and implement quick fixes and temporary countermeasures.

Execute shift-wise Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks as per plan.

Support Predictive Maintenance (PdM) activities like current monitoring, vibration analysis, and thermography for motors, servo systems, and hydraulic packs.

Ensure health monitoring of critical components (servo motors, die cushions, sensors, grippers, hydraulic valves, etc.)

Supervise technicians and contract manpower assigned during the shift.

Ensure safety practices and job compliance (LOTO, PPE, isolation checklists).

Conduct job assignments, shift handover briefings, and emergency response coordination

Track usage of critical spares (press oil seals, cushion springs, servo connectors, sensors, robot cables, etc.).

Ensure availability of common and shift-use tools.

Record spares consumption and raise requirements for low-stock items.

Maintain breakdown logs, MTTR/MTBF data, PM checklists, shift summary reports.

Update CMMS/ERP systems with maintenance actions and downtime reasons.

Support TPM (Jishu Hozen, Kobetsu Kaizen) initiatives and audit readiness.

Competencies / Skills:

Functional/Technical:

Good understanding of servo-driven press systems (Fanuc servo tuning, backup, encoder calibration).

Hands-on with Komatsu press hydraulics, pneumatics, and safety systems.

Knowledge of robotic palletizers (Yaskawa), ASRS sensors/PLC interface, and vision systems (Carl Zeiss).

Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic circuit diagrams.

Familiarity with Mitsubishi/Siemens PLCs and HMI interfaces.

Team handling and shift coordination

Safety-first mindset and technical discipline

Basic documentation, root cause analysis, and communication
