Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

1. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all machinery and utilities.
• Use predictive tools (vibration analysis, thermography, etc.) to anticipate failures.

2. Breakdown Management

• Lead rapid response teams for equipment breakdowns.
• Analyze root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

3. Infrastructure Oversight

• Maintain foundry infrastructure including furnaces, cranes, compressors, and ventilation systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

4. Team Leadership

• Manage a multidisciplinary team of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers.
• Conduct training and skill development programs.

5. Budgeting & Cost Control

• Prepare and manage maintenance budgets.
• Optimize spare parts inventory and negotiate contracts with vendors.

6. Technology & Automation

• Integrate

  PLC, SCADA, and other automation systems

  for process control.
• Drive digital transformation and lean maintenance initiatives (5S, Kaizen, TPM).

7. Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain records of maintenance activities, audits, and inspections.
• Ensure adherence to

  ISO, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.

8. Strategic Planning

• Define long-term maintenance strategies and capital investment plans.

9. Procurement

• Approve purchase of critical spares, tools, and maintenance contracts.

10. Personnel Management

• Hire, train, and evaluate maintenance staff.
• Enforce discipline and safety protocols.

11. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Safety departments to align maintenance goals.

12. Emergency Decisions

• Empowered to halt operations during critical failures or safety risks.

Qualifications

• Education:

  Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.

• Experience:

  20+ years in foundry or heavy engineering industries.

• Skills:

  Reliability engineering, automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, leadership, and compliance management.
