Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a subject matter expert in mainframe technologies.
Provide technical expertise in the architecture, deployment, and sustainment of the mainframe architecture and various applications supported on the infrastructure.
DB2 database administration, installation, configuration, monitoring and upgrading DB2 environment.
Backup and recovery: Develop and implement back up and recovery strategies to safeguard data.
Database security
Performance tuning analyze database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize SQL queries, memory utilization, and other database parameters.
Provides subject matter expertise and consulting services on a range of technologies and assists Technical Analysts and Infrastructure Engineers to ensure that technology solutions comply with enterprise system design and engineering standards
A record of working effectively with application teams, understanding Customer business drivers, and executing on multiple performance tuning projects

Technical skills

Deep understanding of IBM DB2 on Z/OS architecture
Expertise in SQL, LCL , and COBOL for mainframe applications
Proficiency with IBM utilities for backup, recovery, and reorganization.
Strong understanding of mainframe environments, including Z/OS, CICS, IMS
Knowledge of performance tuning and SQL optimization techniques.
Hands on experience with mainframe debugging and monitoring tools.
Minimum 8+ years of database installation experience with Oracle & SQL server standalone and RAC & Always ON cluster
Strong problem solving, testing, and network troubleshooting skills.

Qualification

Bachelor degree in computer science, information technology or relevant field.
Relevant certification on DB2, mainframe administration or database management
