About the team:

Db2 DBA team on z/OS manages IBMs Db2 databases on Mainframe. We handle tasks like database administration, performance tuning and security management.

The team is also responsible for backup, recovery, ensuring data integrity and compliance. The DBA team play a vital role in managing these databases to meet FIS’s business needs.

What you will be doing :

• Database Object Management

  : Create and manage Db2 objects (tables, indexes, tablespaces, etc.) in development and production environments, including bind processes, privilege management, and utility JCL tuning.

• Db2 Performance & Tuning

  : Optimize complex queries, monitor job performance using tools like Omegamon and SYSVIEW, and perform tuning using Explain, and Query Monitor tools.

• Db2 Administration & Maintenance

  : Handle core administration tasks including image copies, REORGs, RUNSTATS, backups, recovery, lock escalation and concurrency analysis.

• Monitoring & Support

  : Provide 24/7 rotational on-call support across three data centers, resolve batch job failures and Db2 error states, and manage helpdesk queues for production, test, and QA environments.

• Upgrades & Validation

  : Participate in Db2 upgrades, component changes, and set up IVP and health check jobs for validation and monitoring.

• Data Modeling & Design

  : Collaborate with developers and application teams for logical and physical data modeling, database sizing, and ensuring alignment with architectural design.

What you bring:

• 7 to 10 Years of experience in DB2 for z/os as an application DBA.
• Understanding on REXX and JCL
• Excellent Communication Skills.
• Creativity & Problem-solving
• Willing to work in Early Morning Shifts(6 Am IST)
