Job Description

Job Summary:

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining production equipment used in the manufacturing, filling, labeling, and packaging of cosmetic products. This role ensures all products are produced efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality and hygiene standards specific to the cosmetics industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and adjust machines used for filling, capping, labeling, sealing, and packing cosmetic products.
  • Prepare machines for production runs by performing setups, calibrations, and necessary changeovers according to product specifications.
  • Ensure proper handling of materials such as creams, lotions, serums, perfumes, and powders to prevent contamination.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks on packaging, labeling, and fill volumes to meet company and regulatory standards.
  • Record production data accurately, including batch numbers, quantities, downtime, and machine settings.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of machinery and work areas in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Identify and report machine faults, defects, or safety concerns promptly to maintenance or supervision.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, including the proper use of PPE.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machine operation or production preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience operating machinery in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or FMCG industry.
  • Knowledge of GMP, ISO standards, and hygiene protocols for cosmetic production.
  • Basic mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot minor machine issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow precise procedures.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and production recording.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends or overtime if required.

Preferred Experience (Optional):

  • Experience with filling lines, tube filling machines, labeling machines, shrink wrapping, or bottling systems.
  • Familiarity with viscous material handling (creams, gels, emulsions).
  • Understanding of batch documentation and traceability requirements in cosmetics manufacturing.

Work Environment:

  • Cleanroom or controlled production area with regulated hygiene standards.
  • Standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Use of PPE such as gloves, hairnets, and lab coats required at all times.

Pay: From ₹13,000.00 per month
