M/ SM - Production support - Java Technical Lead (Transformation)

Role Objective
We are seeking an experienced Java Technical Lead for a Production Support cum Transformation role who will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and continuous improvement of business-critical applications. This is a techno-functional leadership role requiring a strong grasp of Java stack, production support best practices, and transformation initiatives across complex enterprise environments.Key ResponsibilitiesLead a team responsible for production support of Java-based enterprise applicationsOversee incident management, problem resolution, root cause analysis, and change managementEnsure 24x7 availability, stability, and scalability of applicationsDrive process improvements and automation to reduce manual interventions and downtimeOwn and track high-severity incidents to closure, ensuring timely communication with stakeholdersCollaborate with development and infrastructure teams on issue triage and long-term fixesIdentify and implement opportunities for performance optimization and resilience engineeringContribute to transformation initiatives by modernizing support processes and integrating DevOps/Agile methodologiesMaintain SLAs, KPIs, and metrics for support operations; generate periodic performance reportsRequired Technical SkillsStrong core Java and J2EE expertise (10+ years)In-depth understanding of Spring, Hibernate, and REST APIsHands-on experience in production support environments with incident, problem, and change managementStrong debugging and troubleshooting skillsExperience with application performance monitoring tools (e.g., AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Splunk)Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.)Familiarity with Linux/Unix shell scriptingExposure to cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) and CI/CD pipelines is a plusUnderstanding of DevOps tools like Jenkins, Git, Ansible is desirableCore CompetenciesProven leadership experience in managing mid-sized technical teamsAbility to work under pressure in production environmentsStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAnalytical mindset with a solution-oriented approachAgile / ITIL practices understanding preferredFunctional CompetenciesExperience in financial services, banking, or enterprise technology environmentsAbility to interpret business requirements into technical solutions in support settingsFamiliarity with regulatory and compliance standards in IT support (a plus)
