1. Logistics Operations Management:

  • Oversee the entire logistics operations, including inbound and outbound transportation of materials and finished goods.
  • Ensure timely and efficient movement of goods while minimizing transportation costs.
  • Monitor logistics performance and resolve issues to maintain smooth operations.

2. Vendor and Transport Management:

  • Develop and manage relationships with transporters, freight forwarders, and other logistics service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure adherence to agreed terms, including pricing and service levels.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations of logistics vendors.

3. Inventory and Supply Chain Coordination:

  • Collaborate with stores, procurement, and production teams to ensure the timely availability of materials.
  • Optimize inventory movement and storage solutions to support operational efficiency.
  • Monitor stock levels during transit to avoid delays or shortages.

4. Logistics Planning and Optimization:

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to streamline operations and reduce costs.
  • Analyze logistics data and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Plan and execute efficient routes, transportation modes, and schedules.

5. Regulatory Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with local and international transportation and logistics regulations.
  • Implement safety measures for material handling and transportation to prevent accidents and losses.
  • Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory purposes.

6. Budget and Cost Control:

  • Manage logistics budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
  • Monitor expenses and ensure cost efficiency in all logistics operations.

7. Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and present reports on logistics performance, costs, and operational issues to senior management.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all logistics activities, including shipment tracking and inventory movement.

8. Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and manage the logistics team to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.

9. Crisis and Risk Management:

  • Develop contingency plans to address disruptions in logistics operations, such as delays or shortages.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to transportation and material handling.
