Job Description

Logistics & Warehouse Manager

Role & responsibilities

Warehouse Management

  • Supervise all warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatching, and inventory control.
  • Ensure proper

    stock management

    for finished goods, spare parts, and consumables.
  • Implement and maintain

    FIFO / LIFO / FEFO

    stock rotation methods depending on product type.
  • Maintain an organized and safe warehouse layout with optimal space utilization.
  • Conduct

    regular stock audits

    and cycle counts; reconcile discrepancies with ERP records.
  • Ensure compliance with

    safety, ISO, and environmental standards

    .

Logistics & Distribution

  • Plan and manage

    inbound and outbound logistics

    (local and international shipments).
  • Coordinate with

    freight forwarders, transporters, and customs agents

    for smooth movement of goods.
  • Optimize transport routes and modes to minimize cost and delivery time.
  • Monitor shipment tracking, delivery schedules, and proof of deliveries (PODs).
  • Handle

    import/export documentation

    (invoice, packing list, bill of lading, etc.).

Inventory & Systems

  • Maintain accurate inventory records in

    ERP / WMS systems

    (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar).
  • Define and monitor

    minimum and maximum stock levels

    based on lead times and sales forecasts.
  • Coordinate with

    procurement, sales, and service teams

    to ensure product availability and timely dispatch.
  • Generate regular reports on stock status, goods movement, and logistics KPIs.

Team & Process Management

  • Lead and supervise warehouse and logistics staff assigning duties, training, and evaluating performance.
  • Develop and enforce

    SOPs

    for all warehouse and logistics operations.
  • Implement

    lean logistics practices

    and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure

    compliance with company policies, safety standards, and statutory regulations

    .

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors degree in

    Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field

    .
  • 5–10 years of experience in

    logistics and warehouse management

    , preferably in

    industrial or engineering products

    (pumps, valves, motors, mechanical equipment).
  • Strong knowledge of

    inventory management, import/export procedures, and transportation planning

    .
  • Proficiency in

    ERP/WMS software

    and

    MS Office tools

    (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and coordination ability across departments and with vendors.
  • Forklift / warehouse safety certification is an advantage.
