Key roles and responsibilities:

• Installation and configuration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) workstations and servers.
• Creation and management of file systems.
• Scheduling jobs using crontab and at.
• User and group management: creating new users/groups, setting up home directories, and applying appropriate access permissions.
• Configuration and management of Access Control Lists (ACLs).
• Implementation and maintenance of disk quotas for users and groups.
• Configuration and administration of Logical Volume Manager (LVM) for flexible storage management.
• Setup and management of RAID configurations including RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 5.
• Performing backup and restoration operations using tools like scp, rsync, and dump.
• Package management using RPM and YUM for software installation and updates.
• Installation and configuration of file-sharing services: NFS, Samba, and FTP.
• Working knowledge of network services including DNS and DHCP configuration.
• Experience with multiple Linux distributions: RHEL 5.x/6.x/7.x, Ubuntu, and CentOS.
• Basic working knowledge of HP-UX, SunOS, and AIX Unix variants.
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
• Basic scripting skills in Shell scripting for automation and task management.
• Familiarity with Red Hat Clustering and its components.
• Foundational understanding of storage systems and networking concepts.
