Roles and Responsibilities -

• Installation & configuration of OS (RedHat, Suse ,Open source Linux).
• Installation of standard softwares, services packs & patches.
• OS hardening, Basic OS troubleshooting, Implementing bug fixes.
• VAPT closure.
• Installation of monitoring agents.
• Disk management, creating partitions on different types of hypervisor servers( Preferably on KVM ).
• Creation & modification of network VLAN on hypervisor(Preferably on KVM).
• Startup & shutdown of services on Linux OS.
• Hands on experience on Shell script, PowerShell Script. Aded advantage.
• Adapting to the changing Technological environment.
• User Account creation, deletion, modification.
• Should able to lead team effectively.
• Apply Naming Convention, Home Directory and Group creation as per Policy.
• Access rights, User Disabling.
• Monitor Disk space, Processor Utilization, Network Utilization related to server.
• Monitor Concurrent Logins / Connections.
• Viewing system logs and basic troubleshooting.
• Server Reinstallation and configuration. (OS Level)
• Implement password policy.
• Managing Disk space, Processor Utilization, Network Utilization related to server.
• Volume group Management.
• File system Administration.
• Patch Management.
• Logical Volume management(LVM),Storage volume management.
• Co-ordination with various support team/vendors for hardware issues.
• System Migration Task
• New Linux System Installation and configuration and planning.
• Must be able to do the system monitoring using tools like topaz/nmon/vmstat/iostat/svmon /sar and should be in position to give system analysis.
• Must be aware about file system creations/ LVM mirroring concepts / Storage migration concepts.
• Should be able to take corrective action wherever required in system
• Should be in position to give L3 support in migration and patch update activity . Should give support in system down case after patching and upgrade activity.
• Critical Server Hardening/ Server on board validations
• Must have trouble shooting knowledge on all Linux OS part. Should have at least L1 knowledge of server function to check the issue.
• Should have Linux configuration and troubleshooting knowledge.
• knowledge Virtualization Concept. Must have knowledge about configuring NPIV/VNIC.
• Must be strong in OS migration and patch upgrades.
• Linux Cluster knowledge, Linux pacemaker and hands on experience is must.
• Check all action plans like migration Critical Server Hardening/ Server on board validations and VAPT closure etc.
• Should have Knowledge on Storage functions for e.g. Lun mapping, LUN allocation, Host creation etc , Storage sizing
