The position of IT Asset Management (Software) is based in Chennai and is open to local candidates only. The shift timings are from 5 PM to 2 AM, with the possibility of extension if necessary. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in IT Asset Management, with a primary focus of 80% on Software Asset Management (SAM) and 20% on Hardware Asset Management. The main objective of this role is to effectively manage and optimize asset lifecycles. As an IT Asset Management professional, your responsibilities will include handling software requests, SAM enquiries, and mailboxes. You will be required to maintain an accurate software asset inventory using SAM tools such as USU/Aspera, ServiceNow, and Power BI. Additionally, managing license portals (Adobe, Articulate, Docker), conducting quarterly license re-harvesting, and compliance checks will be part of your duties. Tracking software usage versus entitlements and identifying cost-saving optimization opportunities are crucial aspects of the role. You will also be responsible for managing hardware inventory reporting, audits, and governance reports, as well as collaborating with deskside teams for deployments and issue resolution to enhance operational efficiencies. To qualify for this position, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science or a related field. A minimum of 5-6 years of experience in IT Asset Management and Software Asset Management is required, along with a strong understanding of licensing models, particularly from Microsoft, Adobe, and Oracle. Proficiency in SAM tools and IT Service Management (ServiceNow), as well as excellent analytical and communication skills, are essential.
