Librarian

Role & responsibilities

• Manage and maintain both physical and electronic library collections.
  
• Operate and troubleshoot e-library software.
  
• Catalog and classify new acquisitions (books, journals, e-resources).
  
• Provide user support for accessing and using e-resources.
  
• Digitize print materials and manage digital archives.
  
• Conduct training sessions for users on how to use the e-library system.
  
• Collaborate with IT personnel to ensure system efficiency and data security.
  
• Maintain records and prepare reports on library usage and inventory.
  
• Assist in developing library policies and collection development.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Library Science (B.Lib.Sc / M.Lib.Sc) or equivalent.
  
• Proven experience working with e-library software and digital resource management.
  
• Strong IT skills including knowledge of library management systems, databases, and online research tools.

• Experience with open-source library management systems.
  
• Familiarity with digital preservation and metadata standards.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
