Job Summary

The Liaising Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and local civic agencies to ensure smooth execution of company operations, projects, and compliance requirements.

This role requires a proactive individual with strong networking capabilities, understanding of regulatory frameworks, and proven experience dealing with government and municipal offices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Government & Regulatory Liaison

  • Establish and maintain relationships with officials from BMC/MCGM, MIDC, MPCB, Urban Development Department, Collectors Office, Police Department, and other relevant government and regulatory authorities.
  • Facilitate timely approvals, clearances, NOCs, and renewals required for company operations, facilities, or projects.
  • Represent the organization in official meetings, site inspections, hearings, and discussions with local and state authorities.
  • Liaise with Police Department for event permissions, security clearances, and law-and-order coordination related to company projects or initiatives.

2. Statutory Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate preparation, submission, and follow-up of documentation with relevant departments.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of all licenses, approvals, NOCs, and renewals.
  • Ensure internal teams are aligned with regulatory timelines and documentation standards.

3. Policy Monitoring & Advocacy

  • Track government policy updates, circulars, and regulatory amendments affecting the organization.
  • Advise management on implications and suggest proactive measures for compliance or advantage.
  • Engage with industry associations, public bodies, and civic forums for representation and advocacy.

4. Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with internal teams (Legal, Projects, Operations, HR, Admin) for end-to-end liaison coordination.
  • Manage relationships with external consultants, legal firms, and vendors involved in the liaison process.
  • Handle sensitive matters with confidentiality, professionalism, and tact.

5. Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare periodic reports on liaisoning status, pending approvals, risks, and upcoming compliance requirements.
  • Maintain proper records of correspondence and approvals for audit and internal reporting.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    • Graduate degree in

      Law, Public Administration, Political Science, Engineering, or Business Management.

    • A

      Postgraduate Diploma in Liaisoning / Corporate Affairs

      or

      MBA in Public Policy / Legal Management

      preferred.
  • Experience:

    • 15-20 years

      of relevant experience in liaising, government relations, or compliance coordination.
    • Proven experience interacting with

      local authorities in Maharashtra

      , especially

      Mumbai-based departments

      .
    • Preference will be given to:

      • Ex-Officers from the Mumbai Police Department

        , with knowledge of local administration, law enforcement protocols, and departmental procedures.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of discipline, integrity, and discretion.
  • Strong local network with government and police officials in Mumbai and Maharashtra.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments under time pressure.
