Role & responsibilities

• Drive service improvement initiatives and define operational best practices to prevent issues before they occur.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and procedures to enable consistent, proactive operations.
• Design and implement automation to reduce repetitive tasks and improve infrastructure efficiency.
• Lead asset management: maintain asset records, ensure compliance, and support internal and external audits
• Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, or enhancements to improve service reliability.
• Provide expert input during project planning phases for new applications or infrastructure rollouts.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing within the organization.
• Identify obsolete components, propose technical remediation, and plan migrations or replacements.
• Participate in infrastructure architecture reviews and provide technical input on design and performance.
• Lead lifecycle management activities for infrastructure components (planning upgrades, replacements, and end-of-life transitions).

• Server Infrastructure

• Resolve complex OS-level issues (e.g., kernel, memory, performance tuning)
• Perform root-cause analysis for recurring system-level incidents. • Design and implement long-term fixes and system hardening strategies.

• Storage Infrastructure

• Troubleshoot SAN/NAS performance and connectivity issues.
• Perform deep-dive analysis on storage failures and data integrity concerns.
• Drive automation of storage provisioning and monitoring.

• Backup and Recovery

• Resolve advanced backup job failures and restore anomalies.
• Conduct root-cause analysis of data loss or corruption incidents. Optimize backup strategies and automate policy management.

• Middleware

• Diagnose and resolve complex issues in middleware layers (e.g., WebLogic, Tomcat, MQ).
• Analyze integration failures across system components.
• Implement automated health checks and remediation scripts.

• Applications

• Support deep troubleshooting for application performance and stability.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for major application failures involving infrastructure dependencies.
• Drive automation for deployment, patching, and monitoring.

• Cross-Domain (All)

• Act as technical escalation point for Level 1 and 2 support teams.
• Design resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions.
• Serve as Asset Owner: ensure lifecycle, compliance, and documentation of infrastructure components.

• Preferred candidate profile

• 5+ years in IT infrastructure project delivery.

• Experience in hosting environments and integration coordination.

• Good understanding of servers (Linux/Windows), storage (SAN/NAS), and backup systems, Commvault / Azure cloud.

• Familiar with operating systems, databases, networking principles, and middleware platforms.

• Able to lead technical teams and manage integration issues.

• Skilled in automation and scripting (PowerShell, Terraform, Bash, Python).

• Knowledge of ITIL processes: Incident, Problem, and Change Management.

• Experience in large-scale or hybrid infrastructure environments.

• Capable of delivering secure, stable, and compliant solutions.
