Job Description

Position Overview:

The Legal Officer will be responsible for managing and coordinating all legal matters of the organization, particularly those related to real estate regulatory compliance, litigation follow-up, and documentation. The role requires strong legal acumen, effective communication skills, and the ability to independently liaise with external stakeholders, including lawyers, clients, and regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Litigation Follow-up & Case Management

  • Monitor and follow up on all ongoing matters before RERA, NCLT, DRT, High Court, and their respective appellate authorities.
  • Ensure timely filing of replies, appeals, affidavits, compliance documents, and other submissions.
  • Maintain updated case trackers, hearing schedules, and status reports.

2. Liaisoning with External Legal Counsel

  • Coordinate with empanelled lawyers for case updates, strategy discussions, briefing meetings, and document preparation.
  • Review drafts prepared by external counsel and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate smooth communication between the management team and legal counsel.

3. Drafting & Finalization of Agreements

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize RERA Agreement for Sale, and other real estaterelated documents.
  • Ensure agreements comply with applicable laws, RERA norms, and organizational policies.
  • Provide recommendations and legal inputs during negotiations.

4. Property Due Diligence

  • Conduct end-to-end legal due diligence for properties across Pune, including title verification, search reports, encumbrances, litigation checks, and compliance review.
  • Prepare detailed due diligence reports highlighting risks and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with government departments, sub-registrar offices, and consultants for document collection and verification.

5. Client Interaction & Advisory

  • Explain RERA processes, compliance requirements, obligations, and rights to clients.
  • Address client queries related to agreements, regulatory matters, and project documentation.
  • Provide clear and concise legal guidance in a customer-friendly manner.

Desired Qualifications & Skills

  • LL.B. or higher legal qualification from a recognized institution.
  • 25 years of experience in real estate law, litigation management, or regulatory practice (preferred).
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and research skills.
  • Good understanding of RERA, property laws, and civil procedures.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
