Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as primary legal advisor to executive management and board, providing expert guidance on corporate, commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters.

• Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive compliance programs, ensuring the company adheres to statutory and regulatory requirements, including SEBI, Companies Act, FEMA, and other relevant laws.

• Draft, review, and negotiate legal contracts and documentsincluding client/vendor agreements, employment contracts, real estate, M&A, JV, and fundraising documents.

• Oversee and ensure timely statutory filings, regulatory submissions, and company secretarial obligations.

• Lead and manage internal policies related to confidentiality, data protection, risk management, and ethical standards.

• Guide and represent the company in litigation, dispute resolution, and defense, including liaison with external counsels and regulatory authorities.

• Build, lead, and mentor the legal and compliance team; oversee their development and workflow.

• Collaborate with finance, HR, and operations to maintain best practices across all functional areas from a legal and compliance perspective.

• Represent the company in negotiations, regulatory forums, court proceedings, and key stakeholder interactions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Law degree (LL.B./J.D.) from a recognized institution; LL.M. preferred

• Company Secretary (CS) certification with proven experience in secretarial and compliance roles

• Minimum 11+ years’ experience in legal leadership, with strong exposure to compliance management and corporate law

• Demonstrated expertise in regulatory affairs, statutory filings, compliance program development, and risk mitigation

• Excellent negotiation, contract drafting, and communication skills

• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and ethical conduct in fast-paced business environments.
