Job Description

As an Advocate/Lawyer specializing in financial laws and regulations, your role in the Finance Department is crucial for ensuring the legal integrity and protection of the company's financial operations. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including reviewing contracts, advising on legal implications, ensuring regulatory compliance, representing the organization in litigation, and more. Your expertise will be instrumental in safeguarding the financial interests of the company. Key Responsibilities: - Review, draft, and negotiate finance-related contracts, loan agreements, investment documents, and other financial instruments. - Advise the Finance team on the legal implications of business decisions, funding structures, and corporate finance strategies. - Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations such as RBI guidelines, SEBI norms, Companies Act, and FEMA. - Represent the organization in financial litigation, arbitration, and other dispute resolution forums. - Handle recovery proceedings, insolvency & bankruptcy cases (under IBC), and non-performing asset (NPA) issues. - Liaise with external legal counsel, regulators, financial institutions, and internal departments. - Draft and vet internal financial policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks. - Monitor changes in financial legislation and proactively advise stakeholders. Required Qualifications & Experience: - LLB/LLM from a recognized university. - Registered with the Bar Council of India. - 2-3 years of experience in financial or corporate law, preferably in a corporate legal team, law firm, or financial institution. - Experience with financial litigation, regulatory compliance, and contract law. - Strong understanding of the Indian financial regulatory environment. Key Skills: - Legal drafting and negotiation. - Knowledge of finance laws and regulatory frameworks. - Risk analysis and compliance. - Litigation management. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities. Preferred: - Experience with NBFCs, banks, or fintech companies. - Knowledge of taxation laws, investment laws, and cross-border financial transactions. - Exposure to international finance regulations (optional).
