Job Summary

The TQM Lead is responsible for driving the organization-wide implementation and sustenance of Total Quality Management (TQM) practices. This role ensures robust Quality Management Systems (QMS), compliance with external certifications, continuous improvement, and alignment of quality strategy with business objectives. The role works cross-functionally to embed a culture of quality, customer focus, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

TQM & Quality Strategy

  • Lead and drive the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) across all departments.
  • Develop and deploy flexible TQM implementation strategies aligned with business priorities.
  • Train and develop the TQM implementation team and promote quality awareness across the organization.
  • Introduce best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.

Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Implement, maintain, and continually improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure all QMS procedures are effectively implemented and followed across functions.
  • Update quality documentation and institutionalize lessons learned from quality concerns and audits.
  • Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate to strengthen quality performance.

Certification & Compliance

  • Manage all external registration and certification requirements (e.g., ISO / IATF / customer-specific standards).
  • Liaise with certification bodies and external agencies on all matters related to audits and registrations.
  • Ensure internal systems and procedures meet the requirements of external certification bodies.
  • Verify closure of non-conformities raised by certification bodies and customers.

Audits & Corrective Actions

  • Plan and conduct regular internal, process, and system audits of the QMS.
  • Hold quarterly quality audits and management system reviews.
  • Ensure timely corrective and preventive actions for non-conformities.
  • Track effectiveness and closure of corrective actions.

Customer & Business Interface

  • Ensure all customer quality requirements are met and sustained.
  • Review new business initiatives and projects and assess their impact on the QMS.
  • Support capacity planning strategy, policies, processes, and procedures from a quality perspective.

People Leadership

  • Build, manage, coach, and develop a high-performing Quality System team.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational and compliance requirements.
  • Deliver the People Strategy within the area of accountability.
  • Set clear objectives, review performance, and drive capability development.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:

    Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Engineering with Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Experience:

    At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations within the auto components or related industry, with a proven track record in leadership and management.
  • Leadership Skills:

    Strong leadership and people management capabilities with experience in interacting with diverse teams.
  • Technical Expertise:

    In-depth knowledge of TQM philosophy and hands-on experience of driving TQM in the organisation.
