Lead Technical Writer

Your role involves creating, updating, and maintaining technical documentation for Atlas Copco products. This includes writing instruction manuals, quick start guides, and product instructions. You will be responsible for collecting, evaluating, and completing all information accurately. It is essential to possess a strong command of the English language, including grammar, composition rules, and word meanings. You will need to align with priorities set by the Global team, develop product knowledge, understand target audience users, and organize material according to set standards for high-quality documentation. Collaborating with other writers, Product Managers, and the service/marketing team to identify documentation gaps is also part of the role. Additionally, you will publish and maintain templates for written documentation, ensuring a consistent "look and feel," and work closely with technical authors to assess their work for language consistency. Some key skills required for this role include proficiency in authoring tools such as MS Word, Oxygen editor, Adobe FrameMaker, and Adobe InDesign. You should have at least 2 years of experience as a Technical writer, be able to write clearly and concisely in English with correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and have experience writing various types of documentation. Familiarity with MS Office and MS TEAMS is essential for tracking work and collaborating with product teams. Certification in STE and Technical communication is an added advantage. Being well-organized, independent, and capable of working effectively with multiple stakeholders in cross-cultural, global teams is crucial. You should be willing to accept challenges, possess good planning and organizational skills, and be a team player who shares information with colleagues.
