Lead Quality Assurance Engineer

Role Overview: You will be joining Capillary Technologies to lead the QA efforts across multiple projects, ensuring the quality of deliverables and mentoring junior QA team members. As a QA Lead, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, design and execute manual test cases, perform API testing, track software defects, suggest improvements, and contribute to the evolution of QA methodologies and tools. Key Responsibilities: - Lead QA efforts across multiple concurrent projects, maintaining consistency in quality standards and processes. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement test strategies, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all product functionalities. - Design, develop, and execute manual test cases for software and multiplatform applications, maintaining high quality standards. - Perform API testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, etc. - Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems such as JIRA or Bugzilla, ensuring effective communication with development teams for prompt resolution. - Engage in root cause analysis, suggest improvements, and drive process enhancements to enhance product quality and testing efficiency. - Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on testing objectives and timelines. - Produce and maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test results, ensuring clarity and accessibility. - Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, promoting best practices in testing and quality assurance. - Track and report test results, bugs, and overall QA metrics to stakeholders. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - 7-10 years of experience in software QA, with a strong focus on manual testing and API testing. - Proven leadership experience, including leading QA teams or being the point of contact across multiple projects. - Proficiency in testing methodologies, QA processes, and tools. - Strong hands-on experience with API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI, etc.). - Solid knowledge of SQL and data validation techniques. - Exposure to API automation tools and scripting is a strong plus. - Familiarity with test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, etc. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. - Strong communication skills - able to clearly present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and multi-project environment.
