Job Description

As a Lead People Solutions and Advice Infrastructure in India and Sri Lanka for HSBC, your role will include: - Designing, implementing, and streamlining policies and procedures in alignment with local employment legislative provisions and HSBC Group framework. - Providing strategic advice on People Solutions and Advice (PS&A) aspects to HR teams and business on various employment matters, identifying associated risks and providing appropriate resolutions. - Applying in-depth knowledge of labor laws and Group Policies to provide strategic inputs and resolutions for complex Employee Relations (ER) issues, ensuring compliance with regulations and Group standards. - Offering strategic guidance for the development and implementation of Business Change/Transformation programs and providing innovative solutions for effective resolution of challenges. - Overseeing, tracking, and monitoring PS&A service delivery metrics, providing insights to various governance forums. - Engaging and managing relationships with legal counsels, working on litigation strategy for employment disputes, and ensuring accountability for outcomes. - Providing day-to-day direction and mentorship to team members, ensuring professional service delivery, skill development, and workload balance. - Staying current on industry trends, best practices, and changes in employment laws to maintain a competitive employee relations strategy. - Acting as a point of escalation, coaching HR colleagues and business stakeholders on complex concerns and investigations. - Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders for seamless delivery of PS&A objectives. - Ensuring compliance with legal entity/country regulatory requirements and participating in audits when required. - Partnering with the Risk Team for periodic risk assessments of Employment Practices & Relations Risk and developing remediation action plans. Qualifications: - Post Graduation in Human Resources or equivalent with 15+ years of experience in HR function and at least 10 years in Employee Relations. - Demonstrated experience in developing strategy, managing ER policies, processes, and practices in a global environment. - Strong knowledge and application of employment laws applicable to India & Sri Lanka. - High business acumen, exceptional communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to consult and influence people at all levels. - Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills, ability to make rational decisions, and work with senior stakeholders effectively.
