Mentor and monitor a project team including junior designers as well as individual module leads in translating customer requirements and providing proper estimate of effort and work schedule for the team. Own the responsibility of providing detailed project and status reporting while exploring avenues to build new capabilities. Outcomes: Guide the team members mentor junior designers and drive team effort towards a common goal Independently handle a new project and resolve technical issues at a project level Conduct root cause analysis and present findings Understand Phantom BOM for product Understand workload customer requirements and estimate effort Handle project management activities - project plan and estimation Handle and educate team on ISO and QC Audit Interface with the customer and act as a bridge between the employees and the project manager. Understand larger product perspective; identify new business opportunities and present new concepts to customers Electrical:a. Development of wire harness routing designs in 3D which includes ensuring secure routing of harness to corresponding connectors.b. Development of 2D wire harness drawings conforming with customer requirements and industrial drafting standards.c. Design of hardware fixation components such as brackets clips and mounting points using 3D modelling moduled. Review and understand device and component technical datasheets.e. Conduct detailed Study and Analysis for Project Scope Methodology Estimation and Delivery schedule preparation.a. Create and understand schematic drawing and creation Mechanical:a. Hydraulic Design: Design of Hydraulic systems Selection of Hydraulic components and fittings Hydraulic routings using Pro-E Wildfireb. Structural Design: Design of structural members bearings gearing heat transfer and engine related equipment machined parts castings and weld fabrications.c. Component Design: Design test analyse machined parts castings weld fabrications and other components of mechanical systems and processesd. FEA: Perform calculations to analyse structural integrity system loads and fatigue life using thorough knowledge of finite element analysise. Weld Design: Design test and analyse weldments and welding structural components.f. Vehicle Integration and Assembly: Contribute to Mechanical/ Electrical integration as a part of vehicle integrationg. Structural analysis FEA etc. Job Role: Lead Mechanical Designer for Indoor and Outdoor Wireless Small Cells Key Responsibilities / Functions: - Works as the Lead Mechanical Designer in the AIO Small Cell HW Design and Test team - Expertise in mechanical, thermal, structural, tooling and manufacturing design to ensure compact and robust indoor and outdoor Small Cell products. - Work closely with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) teams in design, test and manufacturing. - Expertise in Environmental (Telecordia GR, ETSI EN) and Compliance (TIA, NEBS, UL, CE, FCC) regulatory testing to ensure Small Cell products meet required specifications. - Experience in designing HFC Cable TV outdoor products to meet Outside Plant (OSP) certification. - Expertise in designing mounting accessories for indoor and outdoor Small Cells in various installation scenarios. - In-depth experience in system design, part design, integration, tolerance analysis, material selection and product costing. - Experience in designing Plastic injection molding, Die-Casting, Sheet Metal, CNC Machining. - Expertise in Pro-Engineer, Creo, Solidworks, Flowtherm, Keysoft rendering. Product Description: The Nokia Small Cell organization provides products for indoor and outdoor Small Cells applications of 3G, 4G and 5G carriers in multiple radio frequency (RF) bands. The products are in full GA deployments with ATT, T-Mobile and other worldwide customers. New customers will be entering trials in 2025. There is future roadmap for new HW variants and designs. Essential Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge): - 10+ years experience in Hardware Product Design for Wireless Telecommunications Indoor and Outdoor Small Cell products - Good communication and documentation skills. - Ability to work independently and also work effectively within a team. - Ability to work closely with ODM Factory Design, Product Management, Customer and Field Support teams. - Experience in Lead Radio Hardware Design and Development roles (Mechanical, Power, RF, Digital).
