JOB DESCRIPTON Job Title: Electrical Lead Design Engineer Location: Chennai Experience Level: 10 years Department: Electrical Engineering / Design Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Electrical Lead Design Engineer with hands-on experience in designing electrical control panels for Industrial machinery using EPLAN software. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the creation of accurate and detailed electrical documentation, including GA layouts, schematic diagrams, component structures, and report generation. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop General Arrangement (GA) layouts for electrical control panels in accordance with project specifications and industry standards. Create detailed schematic diagrams for: Power circuits ,Control circuits , Field wiring Define and manage base components and base structure within EPLAN to ensure standardization and reusability of design elements. Generate reports and documentation including: Bill of Materials (BOM) Terminal and cable lists Wiring interconnections Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Mechanical, Software, Project Management) to ensure accurate integration of the electrical design into the final machinery. Maintain and update EPLAN libraries with standard components and templates. Ensure compliance with relevant international electrical standards and safety regulations. Required Skills and Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering. Proven experience in EPLAN Electric P8 for electrical design. Strong understanding of electrical components, control panel architecture, and industrial automation systems. experience of motion control devices (servo drives and motors , stepper motor control) as well as VFD panels. Familiarity with international standards - such as UL Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings Good communication and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with PLC-based control systems. Knowledge of panel manufacturing processes and field installation practices. Experience with macros and automated report generation in EPLAN.
