Job Summary : We are looking for a Lead Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Engineer with deep expertise in Chef, Python, and Terraform to lead the automation and management of our infrastructure environments. This role requires strong experience in both cloud (especially AWS) and on-premises infrastructure, along with a solid grasp of Windows administration. You will play a key role in designing scalable, secure, and highly available systems while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional DevOps and cloud teams.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.  
  
• Develop and maintain Chef cookbooks and recipes for configuration management and automation. 
  
• Write and optimize Python scripts for infrastructure automation, API integrations, and monitoring tasks. 
  
• Build, manage, and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, including modules, workspaces, and state management. 
  
• Collaborate with cloud architects and DevOps engineers to support secure, resilient, and performant infrastructure solutions. 
  
• Guide and mentor junior team members and establish best practices for infrastructure automation. 
  
• Monitor system performance and implement optimizations to ensure reliability and efficiency. 
  
• Ensure compliance with security, governance, and automation standards. 
  
• Integrate infrastructure code into CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment and delivery processes. 
  
• Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for infrastructure-related issues. 
  

Qualifications and Required Skills: 

• Expert-level hands-on experience in: 
  
• Chef (developing cookbooks, recipes, managing automation frameworks) 
  
• Python (scripting, automation, REST API integrations)  
  
• Terraform (module creation, state management, deployment automation) 
  
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, etc.) 
  
• Proficiency in Windows system administration and automation tools. 
  
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and infrastructure lifecycle management. 
  
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK, etc.) 
  
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.  
  
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.  
  

Good to Have Skills: 

• Certifications in AWS, Terraform, or related DevOps tools. 
  
• Experience working in hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments.  
  
• Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
