Lead – Electrical Design – SPM Designs

Job Profile:

Key Responsibilities:

• Electrical System Design:Design and develop robust electrical systems for SPM applications, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and reliability
• CNC / PLC programming and panel design: Configure Computer numerical control (CNC), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and design the electrical panels that house the machine's control componentsSystem integration: Integrate various electrical and control systems, including motors, sensors, and drives, to ensure they work together correctly for the specific metal-cutting task
• Pneumatics and hydraulics: Have a working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, which are often used for functions like tool clamping or axis balancingSchematic Drafting:Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent) or E- PLAN of Latest versions
• Component Selection:Select suitable electrical components including CNCs,PLCs, sensors, relays, actuators, circuit protection devices, and servo drives based on application needs
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with mechanical, software, and project engineering teams to ensure proper integration of electrical systems into overall machine architecture
• Compliance & Standards:Ensure adherence to applicable electrical safety codes, industrial standards, and regulatory requirements (e g , IEC, CE, UL)
• Testing & Validation:Conduct testing, debugging, and system validation of control panels and circuits to ensure proper functionality
• Troubleshooting:Identify and resolve design and integration issues during development, installation, or commissioning stages
• Documentation:Prepare detailed technical documentation, including circuit diagrams, BOMs, wiring schedules, test reports, and user manuals
• Team management:Lead a team of junior design engineers from Electrical Technology / Fluid technology

Preferred Skills:

• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical / E- PLAN or equivalent CAD toolsFamiliarity with CNC & PLC control systems and electrical panel design
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards and SPM applicationsBasic understanding of Hydraulics pneumatics sensors and motor control systemsGood problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in teams
