Lead- Cost Analytics

As the Lead, Cost Analytics (Finance Control) at our Healthtech Start-up, your role is crucial in ensuring the financial health and efficiency of our operations. Your responsibilities will include: - **Comprehensive Cost Analysis**: - Develop a deep understanding of the company's cost structure, including component costs, manufacturing expenses, and logistics. - Create models to map out cost accumulation through the value chain and identify key cost drivers. - **Financial Control & Reporting**: - Track actual costs vs. budgets and targets. - Establish robust cost accounting practices for real-time visibility and provide regular reports to leadership. - **Cost Optimization Projects**: - Proactively identify opportunities to optimize costs, such as design changes, supplier negotiations, or production efficiencies. - Lead cross-functional initiatives to implement cost-saving measures. - **Scenario Planning & Forecasting**: - Lead financial scenario planning for new products or changes. - Provide detailed cost forecasts and sensitivity analyses to support budgeting and long-term planning. - **Governance & Compliance**: - Ensure cost control processes align with financial governance standards. - Prepare for audits, maintain documentation, and enforce financial controls to prevent errors or fraud. Your qualifications should include: - **Educational Background**: - Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field. - Combination of technical and financial education is ideal. - **Experience**: - 5+ years in financial analysis, cost accounting, or similar roles, preferably in a manufacturing or hardware technology company. - **Financial Acumen**: - Strong understanding of cost accounting methodologies, BOM analysis, and margin calculations. - **Analytical Tools**: - Highly proficient in Excel and data analysis, experience with ERP systems is a plus. - **Cross-Functional Communication**: - Excellent communication skills to work with non-finance teams and present findings to leadership. - **Hardware/Manufacturing Insight**: - Direct experience in costing for electronics or hardware, understanding yield loss, scrap, and tooling costs. - **Project Leadership**: - Track record of leading cost reduction initiatives resulting in significant savings. - **First-Principles Approach**: - Demonstrated ability to approach financial problems creatively and optimize cost management. Certifications like CMA or CIMA, or Lean Six Sigma training can further underscore your expertise in cost management.
