Lab Technician

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, label, and test samples, solutions, and reagents under controlled conditions.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, microscopes, spectrophotometers).
• Record and analyze data accurately and maintain detailed logs of laboratory procedures and findings.
• Assist in conducting experiments and research projects as directed by senior staff or scientists.
• Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of lab equipment and work areas.
• Adhere to all laboratory health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
• Calibrate instruments and troubleshoot equipment when necessary.
• Manage inventory of lab supplies and place orders as needed.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, summaries, and documentation for research or quality control purposes.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
• Previous laboratory experience (academic or professional) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory safety and best practices.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Working Conditions:

• Work is typically performed in a laboratory setting.
• May involve exposure to biohazards, chemicals, and laboratory equipment.
• Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
