Lab Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the overall functioning of the laboratory, including testing, reporting, and timely sample processing.
• Supervise and coordinate work schedules for lab technicians, assistants, and phlebotomists.
• Ensure high standards of test accuracy, quality assurance, and report turnaround time.
• Maintain inventory of reagents, consumables, and laboratory equipment; ensure timely procurement.
• Implement and monitor

  IQC (Internal Quality Control)

  and

  EQAS (External Quality Assurance Schemes)

• Oversee calibration, maintenance, and performance checks of laboratory instruments.
• Ensure full compliance with

  NABL / hospital quality protocols

• Develop, update, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Conduct staff training, competency evaluations, and support skill development.
• Ensure proper biomedical waste disposal and infection control measures.
• Coordinate with clinicians and departments to address test-related queries and improve lab-clinical interface.
• Support audit processes and ensure documentation for inspections and accreditations.

Qualifications:

• M.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology /MBA or related field
• Minimum

  8+ years of experience

  , with at least

  2 - 3 years in a supervisory/managerial role

• In-depth knowledge of clinical laboratory operations and quality standards
