Lab Chemist – Distillery / Ethanol Plant

Job Summary
We are looking for a Lab Chemist to perform chemical, physical, and microbiological analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and final ethanol products. The role ensures product quality, regulatory compliance, and supports process optimization within the plant laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and non-routine laboratory tests on molasses/grain, fermentation broth, distillation output, effluent, and finished ethanol.
• Analyze parameters such as:
• Alcohol content
• pH, specific gravity
• Total solids, Brix
• COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand)
• Operate and maintain analytical instruments: GC, HPLC, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, automatic titrators, etc.
• Prepare reagents, standard solutions, and ensure proper sample handling.
• Record and report test results accurately as per SOPs.
• Assist in calibration and troubleshooting of lab instruments.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements (ISO, GMP).
• Support investigations of quality deviations and corrective actions.
• Work closely with production and QA teams for process improvements and product release.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
• 1–3 years of laboratory experience in ethanol, distillery, sugar, or chemical process industries.
• Strong analytical ability, documentation skills, and attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
