Lab Chemist

As a Chemist at Choksi Heraeus Pvt. Ltd., you will be responsible for conducting chemical and metallurgical analyses of metal samples, performing material testing, developing and optimizing metal alloys, investigating quality and performance issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures. You will also stay informed about industry trends, participate in root cause analysis, and provide technical support to production staff. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct chemical and metallurgical analyses of metal samples to assess composition, properties, and performance. - Perform material testing, including mechanical and physical testing, to evaluate quality and suitability of metal products. - Develop and optimize metal alloys and formulations to meet industry and customer specifications. - Investigate and resolve quality and performance issues related to metal products. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams for product development, quality improvement, and process optimization. - Utilize specialized laboratory equipment and instruments for metallurgical analysis. - Maintain accurate records of experiments, test results, and research findings. - Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures (SOPs). - Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies in metallurgy. - Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of production issues. - Provide technical support and guidance to production staff and assist in process improvement. Qualifications: - Education: B.Sc / Masters degree (MSc) or higher in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field from an accredited institution. - Experience: Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in metallurgical analysis, alloy development, or quality control within the metal industry. - Strong knowledge of metallurgical principles, metal characterization techniques, and industry standards. - Proficiency in using specialized metallurgical equipment and software. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records. - Strong commitment to safety and quality standards. - Adaptability and willingness to learn and apply new metallurgical techniques and methodologies.
